Job DescriptionThe Ohio Department of Taxation administers individual and business taxes across the state. The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill one (1) Information Technology Manager 1 position in the Information Services Division.
Responsibilities- Supervise IT support staff responsible for service desk operations, inventory control, end‑user support, and device distribution.
- Manage daily workflow, monitor workloads, provide coaching, complete evaluations, support professional development, and assist in hiring and onboarding.
- Oversee Service Now service desk processes, handle advanced escalations, and coordinate coverage to ensure timely and prompt resolution of issues.
- Strategically plan for hardware replacement and assist with IT procurement.
- Provide assistance with onboarding of new staff, maintain documentation and job aids, contribute content for internal platforms, and support IT needs for agency events.
- Analyze user needs, assist with system updates, and ensure adherence to IT standards.

Alternatively, completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science or an academic major that included at least one course in advanced‑level programming, logic‑based mathematics, database concepts, computer systems analysis & design, and basic data processing concepts.
