JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer who will be part of the Platform team managing the Data Science platform.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support ongoing Data Science Infrastructure operations.

2. Develop and deploy AWS environments using CI/CD processes for a rapidly growing team of Data Scientists.

3. Manage and support large-scale environments to meet the needs of current and future Data Science teams.

4. Champion and mature the environment by implementing and overseeing the image management lifecycle process.

5. Assist in setting up and managing AWS accounts specifically for the Data Science platform.

6. Provide hands-on development using CI/CD tools such as Azure Dev Ops.

7. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for environment setup and management.

8. Develop scripts and applications using programming languages such as Python.

9. Manage database technologies including Athena, Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres.

10. Leverage AWS services essential for Data Lake, Data Science, AI/ML teams.

11. Handle and resolve requests from development and business users, addressing any roadblocks.

12. Manage secured infrastructure, enforce security measures, and apply necessary guard rails.

13. Resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities within SLAs and maintain audit logs.

14. Perform system upgrades and patching, providing on-call support as needed.

15. Conduct root cause analysis and knowledge transfer sessions with the internal team.

16. Collaborate with Network, Database, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams to align on projects and strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

2. 5+ years of relevant work experience in Data Science Infrastructure.

3. Extensive experience with Data Lake, Data Science, and AI/ML services hosted on AWS infrastructure.

4. Deep working knowledge of the following technologies:

- AWS services such as Sage Maker, Glue, Lambda, Athena

- CI/CD tools like Azure Dev Ops

- IaC tools like Terraform

- Docker and ECR (Elastic Container Registry)

- Security tools like AQUA and Kenna

5. Proficiency in communication and technical write-ups.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. AWS and Terraform certified professionals.

2. Familiarity with technical service management and product life cycle maintenance.

3. Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Python and shell scripting.

4. In-depth knowledge of database technologies like Athena, Oracle, MySQL.

5. Extensive experience with CI/CD and IaC tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Terraform.

6. Good communication/collaboration & write up skills.
