Java Lead Developer

Description

Summary: The Data Mastering Management Services team at Huntington is responsible for delivering customer data and mastering services that interface with the customer database and present accurate, fit‑for‑purpose data to internal colleagues and customers. In this Agile Developer position, the successful candidate will analyze and modify existing software/application programs or write new programs to support user and management needs. Design, test, debug, document, and implement those programs.

Consult with users to design, modify, and explain program changes or provide technical support. Resolve problems that occur in production systems and participate in formal and informal training programs.

• Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon user specifications.
• Provides technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.
• Performs complex technical assignments independently and in large team settings.
• Works independently or leads a team to develop technical solutions.
• Actively participates in all Agile processes and functions.
• Shows drive and interest in learning new systems, applications, technologies, and business domains.
• Has strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Has strong interpersonal skills, focuses on customer service, and works well with other IT, vendor, and business groups.
• Works in a fast‑paced environment and is good at multitasking.
• May assist with identifying training needs or training less experienced staff.
• Possesses an in‑depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support.
• May serve as project leader for specific projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of professional experience in the IT field
• 4+ years of Java development experience

• Experience with creating and maintaining APIs
• Automation experience
• Experience working in a multi‑platform environment
• Ability to balance both development and support roles

Exempt Status:
Yes = not eligible for overtime pay (No = eligible for overtime pay)

Workplace Type: Office. Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement that combines the best of in‑office and work‑from‑home environments. Remote roles will also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for moments that matter. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.
