Consultant, Delivery Leader

• Project Management Expertise: Proven experience leading complex IT initiatives involving diverse business and technology teams. Comfortable operating in waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery models.

This is a hybrid role under Nationwide’s Success Flex program and requires working onsite in Columbus, OH two days per week.

• Drive the end‑to‑end delivery of expected business outcomes, realization of benefits outlined in the business case, incremental planning, and dependency scope definition.
• Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions.
• Communicate critical issues, visibility, and change‑management guidance to deliver business outcomes.
• Contribute to contract negotiations, statement‑of‑work development, and vendor oversight toward expected goals.
• Prioritize deliverables, handle moderate to complex issues/risks, and govern dependencies.
• Deliver status/health reports to track value delivery (e.g., KPIs), optimize value flow, and ensure demand/capacity is handled.
• Manage medium to large project/product financials.
• Serve as a professional resource on business outcomes, benefit realization, agile delivery, and lean practices.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reports to Delivery Leader or Business Solution Area Executive.

Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science, data analytics or comparable experience preferred.

Technology certifications or PMI, SAFE, Agile, or Lean designations are encouraged.

Six or more years of experience in technology or related field, with three years of demonstrated proficiency in delivering outcomes/projects.

Ability to make decisions and recommendations; aptitude to influence, establish relationships, and set priorities; excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of associates, senior management, and vendors. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.
