IT QA Tester / Automation
The Automation Developer Analyst requires an aptitude to learn or a proficiency in test automation tools, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing and understanding of TDD and ATDD. The Automation Developer must have the ability to translate user stories and design specifications into quality automated test cases. The role requires the candidate to be driven, well‑organized, and have strong learning and training abilities.
The individual must be self‑motivated, tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment, and complete tasks to agreed schedules. The candidate should have a solid background in industry standard automation and manual testing, quality assurance methodologies and automation solutions. The Scrum Team will rely on this individual to assist in software releases on an ongoing basis and coordinate tasks and activities of the broader testing team.
- Analyze and translate User Stories to create and execute test cases for large business initiatives.
- Automate these test cases and execute on a regular basis.
- Create and maintain test cases and test data using industry standard test automation tools.
- Actively participate in requirements reviews, gain an understanding of functional specifications, and provide feedback on documentation.
- Actively participate in project group meetings.
- Write, review, and maintain the automation test scripts in test automation tools.
- Facilitate defect management meetings.
- Identify defects to deliver a quality product to the client.
- Perform all aspects of verification, including integration testing, functional testing, and regression testing.
- Develop and implement well‑defined test scenarios.
- Manage defect tracking and provide informative updates as requested.
- Participate in production validation and support as needed.
- Comply with Huntington’s standards of Agile methodology and adhere to testing strategies and procedures within the industry standard.
- Work under significant supervision of a QA Manager or Automation Developer Analyst – Lead.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years of Automation experience
- 1+ years of Automation testing experience with industry standard testing/development and quality assurance methodologies
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or CIS or engineering
- Experience building automation scripts using Karate or Rest Assured
- Hands‑on experience testing Restful microservices
- Proficiency in Quality Center / Team Foundation Server with defect tracking, document management, and knowledge base systems
- Proficiency using testing tools Azure Test Plans, query experience with SQL Server, and Internet technologies (different browsers, HTML, JavaScript, etc.), Karate Framework, Rest Assured, or Cucumber, Microsoft Test Manager, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, SOAP UI Postman
- Knowledge of ATDD & TDD
- Good understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming, preferably Java or Python
- Strong business and technology aptitude with willingness to learn and understand business and software solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate and present quality, compliance, and risk issues to project team members
- Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with all business and IT areas
- Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience with keyword, modular and data‑driven frameworks, performance testing using JMeter or other open‑source technology
- Preferred experience with database and service testing
- Experience with Jenkins and plugins
- Experience writing pipelines in Azure
- Experience in Agile/Scrum and implementing TDD or ATDD
- Knowledge of web development frameworks like MVC
- Skilled in recognizing patterns and creating reusable scripts
- Understanding of industry standard databases like Oracle 10g, MS SQL Server, etc.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Power Shell, Perl, etc.
