Datacenter Solutions Architect

Knowledge of traditional and modern datacenter models, including all technology services (backup, network, storage, compute, security, database, desktop, etc.)

Demonstrates knowledge of the technology adoption lifecycle of all infrastructure solutions from current state to future state, including high-level action plans to fully realize the technology capabilities within identified use cases

Ensures strategic fit of solutions with overall enterprise architecture and agreed technology standards

Participate in architectural and roadmap activities with cross functional domains to gain alignment in the overall IT roadmap and company Vision

Collaborate and foster teamwork with within project, support and operation teams translating business needs into value add solutions

Research, design and advocate new technologies, architectures, and infrastructure processes to support the enterprise, its customers, business partners and vendors

Maintain alignment of security governance, risk management, project work streams, and portfolio management through collaboration and team work with various infrastructure SME’s

Responsible for architecting approved solutions that provide value add for the business, are economically feasible, scalable, highly available, and delivered in a timely manner

Work with internal and external business partners to maintain alignment through exemplary communication

Document the above and keep documentation updated using Microsoft Office and Visio products

12-15years of experience in large client IT infrastructure environments

Infrastructure and Operations leadership experience including strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and technical skills, influencing without authority, and interpersonal skills

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Translate business and technical needs into solution architecture requirements and design

Has a good appreciation of risk management, change management, configuration management, reliability and safety methods and the use of metrics

Knowledge of the types of infrastructure systems and detailed knowledge of more than one

BS degree in a computer discipline

Ability to work in complex client environments under pressure

Excellent communication and inter personal skills across business and technical personnel

Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to think algorithmically

Desired:
Certifications in Microsoft technologies, Linux, IBM storage, Pure Storage, Lenovo server hardware, Oracle, VMware, AIX, IBM TSM and Commvault backup.
