Engineering Project Specialist II
The Engineering Project Specialist II will serve as a Resident Engineer, delivering both proactive and reactive technical support in alignment with service level agreements. This role is responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring proper alignment between business needs and technical solutions. The position requires strong technical expertise, collaboration, and the ability to support network performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include conducting network discovery sessions to gather requirements and understand existing environments, aligning with customer organizational structure, supporting processes, and operational procedures, testing and validating new network designs, features, and functionality in lab and production environments, implementing patches, upgrades, and fixes, troubleshooting network and hardware issues, managing cases through resolution, coordinating hardware replacements, providing regular reporting on project status, network health, and issue resolution, facilitating technical workshops, training customer teams on configuration, operation, and best practices for network technologies, assisting in developing and maintaining network operating and equipment procedures, supporting production environments, collaborating with peer engineers to mitigate risks during upgrades and network changes, and expanding technical expertise across additional networking technologies.
Qualifications include minimum 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale IP networks, strong hands-on experience with JUNOS CLI, experience with QFX and EX platforms, enterprise or data center experience, proficiency in routing protocols including BGP and OSPF, experience with Mist Wireless Assurance and related technologies, familiarity with EZ-LAG and similar configurations, knowledge of automation tools and frameworks, experience with Juniper PyEZ or equivalent automation platforms, strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills, ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders, experience supporting network upgrades, maintenance windows, and infrastructure changes, and strong presentation, documentation, and customer-facing skills.
Preferred qualifications include relevant technical certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, JNCIS-MistAI, CCNP, or CCIE, hands-on experience with Mist access points, Marvis AI, and the Mist web-based UI, experience developing and maintaining operational and fault diagnosis procedures, knowledge of network performance monitoring and health assessment, experience with implementation planning, migrations, and upgrade validation, familiarity with support case management and escalation processes, experience working with APIs and web-based network management interfaces, and ability to provide ongoing knowledge transfer and technical guidance to stakeholders.
