Cybersecurity, Systems Engineer
The Ohio Health Cybersecurity Domain Architect spearheads enterprise-wide cybersecurity design and technical leadership across all major security domains, including network security, endpoint security, data protection, AI security, cloud security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and penetration testing, and governance, risk, and compliance. This hybrid position is based in Columbus, OH and partners with engineering, operations, and business teams to define secure operating models, establish scalable security patterns, guide risk‑based decision‑making, and ensure security capabilities are integrated consistently across technology platforms, projects, and organizational processes.
Responsibilitiesand Duties DOMAIN STRATEGY & STANDARDS (40%)
- Define and maintain domain‑specific architecture vision, roadmap, standards, and reference architectures
- Establish domain patterns, best practices, and design principles for consistent implementation
- Align domain architecture with enterprise architecture strategy and business objectives
- Identify and prioritize domain modernization opportunities and technical debt reduction
- Develop and maintain domain technology roadmaps in coordination with Enterprise Architecture
- Govern domain‑level architectural decisions and ensure compliance with enterprise standards
- Serve as the principal subject‑matter expert for domain‑specific technologies and platforms
- Evaluate and recommend domain technologies, tools, and vendor solutions
- Conduct proof‑of‑concept initiatives to validate domain technology choices
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends within the domain
- Provide technical guidance on domain‑specific design patterns, security, and performance
- Assess build vs. buy options for domain components and provide recommendations
- Partner with Solution Architects and delivery teams to ensure domain standards are applied correctly
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architect and Portfolio Architects on cross‑domain initiatives
- Communicate domain strategy, standards, and trade‑offs to technical and business stakeholders
- Participate in architecture governance processes and represent domain perspective in review boards
- Coordinate with other Domain Architects to ensure interoperability and integration across domains
- Engage with vendors and industry partners to leverage domain expertise and best practices
- Mentor Solution Architects and technical teams on domain architecture principles and patterns
- Conduct domain‑focused architecture reviews to ensure design integrity and standards compliance
- Identify domain risks, dependencies, and architectural gaps; propose mitigation strategies
- Promote domain best practices and foster technical excellence within the domain community
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement of domain architecture practices
- 8+ years of experience within a specific technical or business domain
- Deep hands‑on expertise in domain platforms and architectures
- Experience influencing standards across teams
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Data: DAMA‑CDMP, Cloud Data Engineer
- Integration:
Mule Soft or Boomi Architect - Security: CISSP, CISM, or CCSP
- Infrastructure/Cloud: AWS or Azure advanced certifications
- Consistent adoption of domain standards
- Reduced duplication and fragmentation
- Improved stability, performance, and security
- Clear domain roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy
- TOGAF Foundation (Level
1) - ITIL 4 Managing Professional
- CISSP
- ISSAP
- CISM
- Vendor or platform certifications relevant to the domain
