Description
This position must reside in Columbus, OH, or within reasonable commuting distance.
Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing State and Local Government business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; define implementation architectures; respond to RFPs; develop deep expertise in AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Cloud Front;
and be a subject‑matter expert on security for customer applications and services.
- In partnership with the Sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.
- As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
- Conduct one‑to‑few and one‑to‑many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS (e.g., Dev Days or Immersion Days).
- Capture and share best‑practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community.
- Contribute to AWS customer‑facing publications such as white papers.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support.
- Technical presentation experience – Whiteboard, small and large group presentations.
- Technical – Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing.
- Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security.
- Ability to travel 30%.
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
- Experience working within software development or Internet‑related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
