Data Analyst, Data Engineering
This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days (Mondays & Wednesdays) per week.
The ideal candidate can help our team mature data governance capabilities through strong stakeholder partnership, governance operations, and modern data management practices. The right candidate will bring a blend of advisory skills and hands‑on experience with metadata, lineage, catalog, stewardship, and data quality tooling to help teams improve how data is documented, governed, and used across the organization.
Job Description SummaryAs a Data Governance Advisor, you’ll ensure the quality, reliability, security, efficiency, and accuracy of data through the data lifecycle to enable effective reporting and analytics for better and faster decision-making. You’ll ensure adherence to data governance policy, standards and processes including taxonomy, data quality, efficiencies, and usage. Successful candidates have a passion for improving integrity and usability of data assets, resolving data quality issues, creating data definitions, driving consistency in sourcing data and defining critical data elements and collaborating with influencing others to consistently implement data governance policies, process, and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Under minimal supervision supports the data practices for an area or line of business.
- Assists in minimizing the risk of bad data and improve data accuracy, validity, reliability, timeliness, relevance, completeness, and compliance.
- Provides technical support and/or consultation on the Enterprise Data Governance.
- Partners with experts to implement and conduct quality assurance assessments with supporting documentation, working with Auditable Business Unit(s) for risk identification and risk mitigation.
- Aids in the development of basic to moderate metadata management initiatives, including technical data lineage, data quality and profile development.
- Supports technical consulting on data standards on implementation of business solutions/efficiencies efforts.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting RelationshipsReports to Manager/Director Data Leader.
Typical Skills and ExperiencesEducation: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred. Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus.
License/Certification/Designation: Certifications are not required but encouraged.
Experience: Five years of relevant experience with data centric, data governance, data management standards or practices. Experience in use and interpretation of metrics. Experience in analytically‑intense, data‑intense or data integration project preferred. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Skills:
Data application, practices and benchmark knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships, facilitate meetings and influence others.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
