Business Analyst

Description:
Diversified Systems is searching for a Business Analyst to serve as a Senior Level Analyst responsible for leading the Business Analysis activities for the modernization and full re-write of enterprise .NET applications. The BA acts as a bridge between business/program teams and software development teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and traceability from intake of requirements through delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate interviews and working sessions with program teams, SMEs, and technical staff.
  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Document current state workflows, system dependencies, and processes.
  • Design future state workflows aligned with modernization goals and .NET architectural changes if any.
  • Create process maps, decision trees, and workflow diagrams using Visio and other modeling tools.
  • Support data migration planning by documenting data models, business rules, and transformation logic.
  • Develop Quality-of-Service (non-functional) requirements including performance, scalability, quality of service (QoS), security, and usability.
  • Develop Report Specifications defining the purpose of reports, justification, attributes and columns, owners, and runtime parameters.
  • Provide strong organization and writing skills and develop graphic representations of complex business processes.
  • Provide requisite support for Quality Assurance testing, UAT coordination, defect triage, and validation of fixes.
  • Review system behavior to ensure alignment with documented requirements and program expectations.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to project managers and leadership.
  • Require an understanding of application architecture, re-architecting, or rebuilding strategies including Azure Functions, APIs, SQL Server, and .NET Core.
  • Perform legacy systems analysis and evaluate integration points to determine modernization paths.
  • Apply familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices, and modern Dev Ops practices.
  • Utilize project and portfolio management tools such as Clarity PPM, Azure Dev Ops, SharePoint, and other off-the-shelf operational systems.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of application architecture, re-architecting, or rebuilding strategies including Azure Functions, APIs, SQL Server, and .NET Core required.
  • Legacy systems analysis and integration points to determine modernization path required.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices, and modern Dev Ops practices required.
  • Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as Clarity PPM, Azure Dev Ops, SharePoint, and other off-the-shelf operational systems required.
  • 8 years of experience on projects involving requirements development for legacy system migration, re-factoring, or modernization required.
  • 4-year college degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a focus on Technology required.
  • At least one IIBA Business Analyst certification required.
  • Other Agile/Scrum certifications highly desired.
  • Experience leading teams across development, operations, security, and business functions required.
