The Digital Accessibility Analyst will promote digital accessibility in the College of Medicine (COM) as defined by The Ohio State ADA Coordinator's Office. The Analyst develops, distributes, and educates faculty, staff, and student employees on digital accessibility; consults with units in the COM to evaluate their digital asset debt and recommend and develop strategies to improve the accessibility of their unit, at the direction of the College of Medicine Manager for Digital Accessibility;
ensures an appropriate audit trail is maintained for all remediation efforts and that accommodation/remediation efforts are tracked and reported; plans and carries out events to raise awareness of accessibility in COM; offers training opportunities to create accessible documents focusing on best practices in accessible design and coding; supports faculty and staff to make teaching materials digitally accessible; collaborate with other units on campus to gather and share information about best practices for creating a culture of digital accessibility;
performs a yearly audit to make sure faculty and staff have taken needed training; assists in evaluation of software and suggest accommodations and/or remediation to stakeholders; stays up to date on accessibility requirements and best practices.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Additional QualificationsTeaching or instructional design experience preferred;
Masters degree in Social Work, Education, or Information Technology preferred.
