Mathematics Expert (AI Training) About

The Role

What if your deep knowledge of mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons, solves problems, and thinks through complex challenges for millions of people around the world?

We're looking for Mathematics experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help train and evaluate cutting‑edge AI models. Your job is to push AI reasoning to its limits: crafting rigorous problems, stress‑testing solutions, and ensuring mathematical accuracy at the highest level.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for serious mathematicians who want meaningful, intellectually engaging work on their own schedule.

  • Organization:
    Alignerr
  • Type:
    Hourly Contract
  • Location:

    Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
  • Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and depth
  • Apply your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas to design complex, rigorous problem sets
  • Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning for correctness, clarity, and logical soundness
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to strengthen AI model performance
  • Ensure mathematical rigor, precision, and depth across all deliverables
  • Work independently on task-based assignments fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
  • Hold a Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
  • Strong command of one or more core areas: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
  • Comfortable working with Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or problem-solving
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented — you spot errors others miss and care deeply about mathematical correctness
  • Clear and precise written communicator, able to articulate complex ideas with accuracy
  • Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Background in research, academia, or applied mathematics
  • Experience writing or reviewing technical mathematical content for clarity and correctness
  • Familiarity with AI tools or STEM content evaluation platforms
Why Join Us
  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons through mathematics
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
