Build, improve, and hand over data center connectivity
We’re seeking a seasoned leader to supervise structured cabling buildouts and decommissions in live data center spaces. Your focus: precise execution, clean documentation, and continuous process improvement—while keeping people safe and stakeholders informed.
Role focus
Own installation/decommissioning of network and structured cabling across white space and support areas.
Institutionalize sustainable, repeatable methods; refine workflows and standards for efficiency and quality.
Deliver scheduled, structured progress updates to all stakeholders.
Maintain craftsmanship quality, accurate labeling, and impeccable data hall cleanliness.
Observe production, safety, and quality codes and industry best practices without exception.
Partner with cross-functional teams to eliminate blockers and meet milestones.
Interpret blueprints, floor plans, and building docs; create/update redlines as needed.
Apply broad knowledge of data center infrastructure technologies to ensure smooth network handover.
Leadership & execution
Lead a 6–10 person field team; set expectations, coach, and own outcomes.
Conduct customer job walks; confirm scope and success criteria; align on requirements.
Track crew time accurately and submit timesheets promptly.
Assess individual strengths/weaknesses; document lessons learned in real time.
Coordinate QA/QC status walks; manage project closeout deliverables.
Technical must-haves3+ years supporting data center cabling or equivalent environments.
Fusion splicing proficiency; skilled with all low-voltage cable pulls and cable dressing.
Mastery of field terminations and labeling across copper and fiber.
Strong understanding of wiring schemes and testing methodologies.
Ability to test and troubleshoot copper and fiber; experience with analog, DSL, and extending T1 lines.
Comfortable patching network equipment and executing structured handovers.
Blueprint/floor plan literacy; strong safety awareness; telecom hand tool proficiency.
Capable of planning MDF/IDF layouts; running midsize to large projects and service work.
Metrics/SLA tracking; clear communication with Foremen, Leads, and Technicians.
