Service Now Platform Engineer
The Service Now Platform Engineer provides senior-level technical leadership for the design, development, administration, and support of the Service Now platform. This role will improve platform stability, security, performance, and overall user experience while helping business and technology teams maximize the value of Service Now.
Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, develop, and support Service Now applications and platform capabilities.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and identify opportunities to improve processes, performance, and user experience.
- Manage platform security, including users, groups, roles, relationships, and ACLs.
- Monitor platform performance, identify technical debt, and implement Service Now best practices.
- Develop and maintain enterprise reporting strategies and platform-wide reporting.
- Partner with technology and business teams to translate requirements into scalable Service Now solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and knowledge transfer to internal teams and business partners.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and job aids.
- May lead technical projects and mentor less-experienced team members.
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in application development, ITSM, and Service Now.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience with Service Now configuration, development, and administration.
- Experience with one or more Service Now modules:
ITSM, CSM, HRSD, Sec Ops, GRC/IRM, SAM, ITBM, or ITOM
. - Experience with Service Now User Experience, Service Intelligence, or Service Experience tools.
- Experience with REST APIs, web services, and JSON
. - Strong understanding of Service Now architecture, integrations, security, and technical debt remediation.
- Experience working in large enterprise or financial-services environments.
