A well-established Columbus-based law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its growing private client practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working closely with individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning matters and probate administration.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients on estate planning strategies, drafting comprehensive estate planning documents, and guiding families through probate and trust administration. This role offers meaningful client interaction, autonomy in case management, and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships within a collaborative firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft and implement estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related instruments
- Advise clients on asset protection, tax planning, and wealth transfer strategies
- Counsel clients on elder law matters, including Medicaid and long-term care planning
- Handle probate and trust administration matters from filing through final distribution
- Work directly with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and families
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professional advisors
Qualifications
- 3+ years of trusts and estates experience preferred
- Admission to the Ohio Bar required
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- Excellent client counseling and communication abilities
- Ability to manage matters independently while contributing to a team-oriented practice
- Experience with estate and gift tax planning is a plus
