A highly regarded and trial-focused law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. The firm is known for handling complex, high-exposure civil matters and for providing associates with meaningful courtroom experience and substantive responsibility early in their careers. The Litigation Associate will play a key role in managing cases from inception through resolution, working closely with senior attorneys while maintaining significant ownership over assigned matters.
Location: Columbus, OH (on-site)
Pay: $120,000 - $175,000 annually
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support civil litigation matters in state and federal courts
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and substantive legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy
- Handle written discovery, document production, and deposition preparation
- Take and defend depositions, including fact and expert witnesses
- Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments and strategy
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit coordination
- 2+ years of litigation experience in a law firm environment
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience drafting substantive motions and managing discovery
- Deposition and courtroom experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral advocacy and client communication abilities
- Active admission to the applicable state bar in good standing
