Buyer

Columbus, OH | $55,000 to $60,000 plus Bonus | Job

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supply chain and procurement activities while gaining exposure to a variety of responsibilities across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Review production schedules, forecasts, and work orders to determine raw material and component requirements.
  • Support purchasing activities to ensure materials are available to meet production demands and customer commitments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors to achieve the best overall value.
  • Prepare material estimates and customer quotes while maintaining accurate purchasing records.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, and service.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers and vendors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
