Position SummaryThe Vice President of Supply Chain Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling our end-to-end supply chain infrastructure. This leader will oversee commissary production, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution to ensure our growing café business can expand efficiently while maintaining exceptional product quality and consistency.
This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on operator who can improve our current commissary and distribution network while building the systems, processes, and team structure needed to support significant multi-unit growth.
Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Strategy & Scalability- Develop and execute a long-term supply chain strategy to support expansion from our current footprint to a significantly larger multi-unit operation.
- Evaluate current commissary, warehousing, and distribution capabilities and design scalable solutions.
- Build a multi-year roadmap for capacity planning, automation, technology, and network optimization.
- Lead make-versus-buy decisions and evaluate outsourcing opportunities where appropriate.
- Oversee all commissary production activities, including baking, food preparation, packaging, and quality assurance.
- Improve throughput, labor productivity, yield, and scheduling efficiency.
- Establish standardized production planning and forecasting processes.
- Ensure the commissary consistently delivers high-quality products to all locations.
- Lead sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop contingency plans and dual-sourcing strategies to reduce supply risk.
- Monitor commodity trends and proactively manage pricing and availability.
- Optimize delivery routes, transportation schedules, and fleet utilization.
- Improve order accuracy, on-time delivery, and product freshness.
- Design distribution systems capable of supporting new markets and geographic expansion.
- Establish KPI-driven logistics management.
- Implement best practices for inventory control, forecasting, and replenishment.
- Reduce waste, spoilage, and stockouts.
- Partner with Finance and IT to maximize the use of systems such as Restaurant
365 and Square. - Build reporting and dashboards to monitor supply chain performance.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Partner with culinary and operations teams to protect product integrity.
- Establish robust quality assurance and traceability systems.
- Build and lead high-performing teams across procurement, commissary, and logistics.
- Develop organizational structure and succession plans to support growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
