Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Buyer to support our manufacturing operations by purchasing goods, materials, and services to ensure production schedules and customer demands are met. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting strategic procurement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes.
Responsibilities
+ Purchase goods, materials, and services to support operational and production requirements.
+ Review and process purchase orders and requisitions within the ERP system (Epicor preferred).
+ Conduct competitive bidding activities to secure the best value for the organization.
+ Manage supplier communications and maintain strong vendor relationships.
+ Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock based on forecasts and manufacturing demands.
+ Identify and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
+ Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to qualify new suppliers and products.
+ Support import/export activities and procurement compliance initiatives.
+ Research market trends and supplier capabilities to support purchasing decisions.
+ Resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier-related issues.
+ Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
+ Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Essential Skills
+ Associate degree and/or equivalent experience required;
Bachelor's degree preferred.
+ 2-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
+ Strong understanding of purchasing, procurement, and requisition processes.
+ Experience working with ERP/MRP systems required;
Epicor experience is a plus.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Supply chain and procurement experience preferred.
+ Ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, specification sheets, and procurement documents.
+ Knowledge of standard non-conformance procedures.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
+ Understanding of inventory management and demand planning concepts.
Work Environment
This position is based out of the corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in a professional office/cubicle environment. Employees work a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business casual attire is required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
