OverviewMission Sciences is building a new model for how capabilities are sourced, structured, and delivered to meet mission demand.
We are hiring a Head of Supply to own the full lifecycle of supply creation, onboarding, and optimization across General Wisdom . This is not a traditional vendor management or procurement role. It is a system-level role responsible for ensuring that high-quality, mission-ready capabilities are available, structured, and deployable against demand.
You will build and operate the Supply Engine .
The MissionConvert fragmented capabilities into structured, deployable supply across four phases:
You own supply readiness, quality, and responsiveness to demand.
Core Responsibilities Supply Creation & Sourcing- Build and manage the supply ecosystem:
- Defense tech companies
- Traditional primes and subcontractors
- Startups and emerging capabilities
- Internal Mission Sciences products
- Identify high-value supply aligned to mission needs
- Continuously expand and refresh the supply base
- Evaluate suppliers across:
- Technical capability
- Mission relevance
- Security and compliance posture
- Deliverability and scalability
- Establish standards for:
- “Mission-ready” certification
- Interoperability with other capabilities
- Rapidly assess fit against emerging demand
- Convert capabilities into:
- Mission kits
- SKUs
- Service offerings
- Integrated solutions
- Standardize how supply is described, priced, and delivered
- Ensure supply is easily matchable to demand
- Ensure supply is:
- Discoverable within General Wisdom
- Ready for rapid deployment
- Aligned with known demand pathways
- Coordinate with Head of Demand to:
- Close capability gaps
- Pre-position supply for anticipated opportunities
- Track and optimize:
- Supply utilization rates
- Time-to-activation
- Match success rates with demand
- Build systems to:
- Maintain supply quality
- Remove underperforming or irrelevant supply
- Develop dashboards and operational cadence
- Use AI to:
- Identify emerging technologies and suppliers
- Analyze supply-demand gaps
- Generate capability summaries and comparisons
- Accelerate onboarding and qualification workflows
- Integrate AI into the Supply Engine
- Continuously improve supply readiness and coverage
High proficiency in at least one:
- Claude
- ChatGPT
- Grok
- Perplexity
- Gemini
Preferred experience with at least one:
- Claude Code
- Perplexity Computer
- Hermes
- Windsurf
- Cursor
You should be able to:
- Synthesize supplier capabilities into structured offerings
- Build AI-assisted workflows for onboarding and qualification
- Use AI to identify gaps and improve supply coverage
- 7–15 years in:
- Supply chain, procurement, or vendor management
- Defense, national security, or federal markets preferred
- Strong experience with:
- Evaluating and onboarding suppliers
- Structuring offerings for delivery
- Managing complex partner ecosystems
- Understanding of:
- Defense technology landscape
- Government compliance and acquisition constraints
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and impose structure
- High-quality, mission-ready supply available at all times
- Rapid onboarding of new capabilities in days, not months
- Clear mapping between supply and demand
- Strong utilization of supply across opportunities
- AI embedded in sourcing, qualification, and packaging
