Buyer
We are seeking a Buyer to support manufacturing operations through the procurement of materials, products, and services. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory levels, supporting production schedules, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials in a growing semiconductor-related manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials, components, and services to support operational and production needs.
- Maintain inventory levels based on forecasts, production schedules, and customer demand.
- Obtain quotes, conduct competitive bids, and negotiate pricing with suppliers.
- Create and manage purchase orders within the Epicor ERP system.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and issue resolution.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and supply reliability.
- Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to qualify new suppliers and products.
- Monitor market trends and support procurement best practices.
- Assist with import/export activities and supplier quality concerns.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and support the purchasing process from requisition through fulfillment.
Essential
Skills:
- 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems;
Epicor experience preferred. - Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier negotiations, and inventory management.
- Ability to read bills of materials, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving purchasing issues.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred;
Associate degree and/or equivalent experience considered. - Experience in procurement, sourcing, and purchase order management.
- Semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with import/export processes and supplier quality procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to identify cost-reduction opportunities and negotiate effectively.
Work Environment:
This role is based in a cubicle/office setting at a corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment is professional and business casual, supporting collaboration between purchasing, engineering, quality, and operations teams. The position operates within a growing operation in the semiconductor space, offering long-term growth opportunities and exposure to modern ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
