What You’ll Do- Perform calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) on basic industrial weighing equipment (e.g., floor and bench scales) without assistance, within the respective Business Area. May assist others on installations, projects and/or repairs as necessary.
- Perform basic end user training and calibrations and PM duties according to METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.
- Assist and cooperate with Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as necessary.
- Promote and sell service and products; submit sales leads at a level commensurate with experience.
- Maintain inventory levels as assigned and ensure accuracy and control over stocked items.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Work to meet customer uptime requirements and complete all work assignments on time.
- Complete and submit required paperwork daily via company-issued Laptop PC in a professional manner.
- Maintain professional relationships with external/internal customers, sales, technicians and other leaders.
- Timely Kronos timekeeping with punches entered for each activity as it occurs.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues.
- Comply with the Company Fleet policy.
- Submit Weights & Measures paperwork to state/county in a timely manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
- A valid driver's license.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years relevant experience in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, technology or computer science, or equivalent education/experience in technical support, troubleshooting or installation of electronics/electromechanical systems.
- Associate’s degree (AA) with a technical major or equivalent preferred.
- Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies including PC networking and software configuration.
- 1–3 years electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights & Measures license; failure to obtain or loss of license could affect employment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn proprietary METTLER TOLEDO software.
- Ability to travel overnight (up to 10% on average; up to 25% depending on business needs), primarily via company vehicle; may travel by plane.
- Residence within the service territory.
- Ability to work overtime (approximately 10–15%, potentially up to 25%).
- Willingness to be exposed to hazards (chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, moving parts) and to wear protective equipment when required.
- Safety-sensitive role with DOT drug/alcohol testing and DOT physical exam requirements.
- Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavy loads; frequent crouching, stooping, kneeling and bending to complete duties safely and efficiently.
