WhatYou’ll Do
- Follow safe work practices and company/client work‑site policies, and promote E2 Optics’ core values.
- Develop and manage corporate safety initiatives to build a world‑class program for all Eastern US sites.
- Work with personnel at all levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the Eastern region.
- Provide support to regional field leadership to build awareness of evolving environmental, health and safety issues and adopt best practices.
- Maintain accident‑prevention and loss‑mitigation programs and incorporate them into operational policies.
- Determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, verifying implementation.
- Communicate expectations, goals, standards, and metrics to measure progress.
- Attend and support required safety‑management meetings with internal and external parties.
- Follow up on action items based on KPIs and verify completion.
- Manage safety training needs in accordance with E2 Optics and customer guidelines.
- Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise throughout the Eastern US region.
- Manage compliance inspections, audits, and associated tracking.
- Maintain safety files and record structure for field audits to verify results, compliance and business reporting.
- Lead investigation of accidents and injuries at regional sites and prepare evidence for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
- Compile and submit required accident reports for Eastern region partners.
- Co‑administer the workers’ compensation program with the Director of Safety US Operations and HR, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
- Support HR with drug, alcohol and medical screening of all employees.
- Travel as required by E2 Optics.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Business Management, Psychology or similar.
- Five or more years of safety‑management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles (may substitute for a bachelor’s degree).
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) required; ASP/CSP/SMS Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of curriculum and training design, instruction, and measurement of training effects.
- Five to ten years of progressively responsible leadership in occupational health and/or safety, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety laws.
- Experience with inspections, incident investigations, process and contractor safety, hazard reviews and job safety analysis.
- Experience with safety‑management programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) and MS Project.
- Solid working knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for local, state or national security operations.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, safety modeling (SOP), leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of laws, codes, government regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings or other structures in regional data centers.
