This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio or Des Moines, Iowa office 2 days per week on Mondays & Tuesdays.
This role is with Commercial Lines Solutions (CLS) and is seeking an experienced Manager, Software Engineering Product Manager to lead and enhance our downstream and billing application suite. In this role, you will use your technical background and leadership skills to drive improvements and innovation across our Mainframe platforms, downstream processes, and Billing systems. As the owner of these applications, you will set the vision, define the roadmap, improve delivery practices, and lead both internal teams and global vendor partners to achieve strong, consistent results.
Responsibilities- Strong technical leadership across Mainframe platforms and integrations to improve reliability and speed of delivery.
- Improve downstream processing by making systems more scalable, reducing defects, and ensuring smooth data flow.
- Billing domain knowledge that helps prioritize the right features, improve accuracy, and streamline operations.
- Experience leading vendor teams in an MSA model, ensuring they meet SLAs, KPIs, and deliver high‑quality work.
- Success building and managing global teams using an onsite/offshore model to increase coverage and optimize cost.
- Deliver secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications- Education: Undergraduate studies in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science or comparable experience and education preferred.
- Experience: Six years of experience in application suite management with four years or more leading numerous teams across multiple technologies. Proven experience in empowering and building an engaged team.

Skills:
Detailed understanding of the systems development life cycle and modern methodologies, practices, tools, and techniques. Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis capabilities. Ability to develop and implement roadmaps. Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills. Coaching and career development of team. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.
Reports to Technology Director or above. Leads a team of 5 or more technology professionals.
