Executive Director, Office of Career Management (OCM)

OverviewThe Office of Career Management provides comprehensive job search coaching programs and services to over 9,000 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students, delivering on‑campus and virtual recruiting programs to local and global brands.
The Executive Director exercises independent authority and provides strategic leadership and oversight of all career development, employer engagement, and job placement functions within the college.
Responsibilities- Drive student career readiness and improve employment outcomes, pipeline academic programs with workforce needs.
- Monitor key performance metrics, ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and collaborate across departments.
- Formulate and implement data‑driven annual and multi‑year strategies for program and service offerings, human capital needs, and resource allocations.
- Build and maintain relationships with the Graduate Programs Office, Undergraduate Programs Office, and other units to support admissions goals, curriculum enhancement, orientation programs, rankings, and student/alumni engagement.
- Ensure the office achieves the strategic priorities set by the Dean and/or university.
- Manage unit budget, collaborate with Finance and Administration, generate revenue through career events and sponsor ships, and oversee use of college and university‑allocated funds.
- Collaborate with executive education, Centers of Excellence, academic department chairs, and other offices to support stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee robust data collection processes and lead a data insights team to provide semi‑annual impact reports and annual reports highlighting student employment outcomes.
- Partner with marketing and communications to publish career management content and share successes with internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively participate in regional, national, and international professional/industry associations and pursue leadership roles when possible.
- Participate in college and university initiatives and committees as requested.
- Master’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in career services, workforce development, or a related field in higher education, including supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated success in improving job placement outcomes and building employer partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of labor market trends, workforce development strategies, and career readiness best practices.
- Proven ability to analyze data, track outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively and strategically across functions, levels, and departments.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with varied internal and external constituents.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and uphold confidentiality.
- Proven experience with strategic data collection principles and data‑driven decision‑making and predictive outcomes.
- Minimum 15–20 years progressive leadership roles in career management within higher education, preferably with significant experience in a business school environment.
