• Lead business development activities: marketing, strategy, prospect identification, proposal development, client presentations, budgeting and contracting.
• Engage with assigned clients and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities.
• Develop and support the overall market business plan and client engagement strategies.
• Oversee project execution: manage engineering personnel, set performance goals, ensure implementation, and participate in project activities with the owner and internal team.
• Perform or assist with commercial management: budgeting, invoicing, payments, and project performance reviews.
• Mentor and develop team members, recommend training and promotion, and identify new candidates for the organization.
• Act as the project manager, leading the project team and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

• 10+ years of business development and project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Professional Engineering license.
• Strong technical knowledge of wastewater and water markets.
• Sales skills, including tenacity, competitiveness, and contract negotiation ability.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficiency in budgeting, financial metrics, and decision‑making.
• Proven problem‑solving and leadership abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to complete required pre‑employment background checks.

• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days.
• Typical office and construction environments with possible exposure to extreme weather, high noise, chemicals, and hazardous locations.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, talking, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, carrying up to 40 lbs, and occasional stair or ladder use.
