Director of Logistics and Operations
The Director of Logistics and Operations will oversee day-to-day operations for Charity Newsies. This position is a member of the senior leadership team and will work closely with the Director of Warehouse Operations and the Director of Quality Improvement and Evaluation to lead the Clothe-A-Child program’s service delivery. The Director of Logistics and Operations is responsible for the overall successful operation of the Clothe-A-Child application and clothing distribution process.
This role will spearhead strategy and vision for operations. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. The salary range is $55,000 to $60,000, with PTO and health insurance benefit coverage at 80%.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise overall daily operations
- Ensuring accuracy of the application and clothing distribution process
- Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of organizational operations
- Reviewing and updating organizational SOPs
- Ensuring proper daily maintenance and cleanliness of facilities
- Ensuring logs and paperwork are completed properly
- Collaborating with senior leadership for all facility equipment repairs, building and safety concerns
- Involved in and recommend hiring, promotions, terminations and performance appraisals
- Oversees application enrollment for all programs and services
- Manages the creation, implementation, collection and maintenance of operational documentation
- Provides leadership and assistance in developing long-range plans
- Directs daily operations to align with goals and strategies
- Provides written/verbal reports regarding significant issues pertaining to operations
- Informs Executive Director of overall operational challenges and their status
- Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations
- Maintains an awareness of related new trends and advances in the industry
- Reviews reports, correspondence, and queries from Board members, members, the general public and others and determines/initiates appropriate action/response in a professional and timely manner
- Builds and maintains trusted relationships with the public, members and other stakeholders
- Assumes ownership and responsibility for assigned programs, projects and duties
- Analyzes internal operations and identifies areas of process enhancement
- Monitors, coordinates or conducts various projects as assigned, gathers proposals and provides recommendations and tracks status and costs of projects
- Compiles and monitors administrative and/or statistical data pertaining to operations, projects and programs
- Adheres to company, federal, state, and local business laws and requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary
- Assists in controlling company costs
- Implements, manages and evaluates current operational processes and procedures in accordance with the standards and procedures set out
- Develops, writes and implements policies and procedures as requested by the Board and/or Executive Director
- Establishes metrics for key areas of measurement within operations
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director
- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional experience working with diverse staff and a history of productive and dynamic team work
- Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications
- Experience leading and working with multiple teams in an established, fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to manage change, develop, mentor and coach personnel, including experience with cross‑functional teams
- Ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines and budgets
- Strong organizational skills, ability to lead by example
- Effective communication and motivational capabilities
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong conflict resolution, problem solving, and decision‑making skills
