Role Summary

Project Manager for Operations – responsible for overseeing projects from planning to system acceptance, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery of Exol’s automated warehousing solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary operations liaison across Automation, Engineering, IT, Facilities, and Staffing throughout the facility launch lifecycle – from construction turnover through steady‑state operations.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional meetings and provide clear updates to internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track.
  • Develop process flows, labor models, and staffing plans that connect automation system design to operational headcount requirements.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams through the execution phase, from early site preparation and coordination to final system acceptance, maintaining focus on project goals.
  • Build readiness checklists and operational acceptance criteria that define what “ready to operate” means for each team before go‑live.
  • Conduct post‑launch performance analysis to close the loop between design intent and actual results.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, timely decision‑making, and strong partnerships across all project participants.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 5years managing large automation, material handling, or construction projects.
  • Proven experience in scheduling, scope, cost, and risk management for complex technical projects.
  • Background in robotic automation, ASRS, or material handling preferred.
  • Experience managing design/building, installation, and construction projects.
  • Skilled at stakeholder management across clients, contractors, and engineering teams.
  • Track record of delivery on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem‑solving under pressure and ability to implement creative solutions.
  • Effective negotiation skills with proven ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, earned value management, and data‑driven performance tracking (Smartsheet / Jira).
Environment & Logistics
  • Up to 25% travel may be required; employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi‑weekly basis.
