About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist and people leader to strengthen the connection between Program Management and Operations while guiding the success of specialty pharmacy programs and product launches.

This highly visible position combines account strategy, launch leadership, operational problem-solving, data analysis, and team development. You will work across functions to identify risks, improve execution, strengthen manufacturer relationships, and ensure teams are aligned before and after launch.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Launch Strategy and Execution
  • Serve as the primary connection between Program Management and Operations
  • Align internal stakeholders around launch requirements, responsibilities, timelines, and measures of success
  • Guide specialty pharmacy programs through pre-launch planning, implementation, go-live, and post-launch stabilization
  • Identify operational gaps, dependencies, and potential barriers before they affect execution
  • Ensure project and operational teams remain accountable, responsive, and proactive
  • Coordinate timely resolution of issues that could affect service delivery, client expectations, or launch success
  • Apply a strategic, insight-driven approach to managing current manufacturer and specialty pharmacy accounts
  • Develop a strong understanding of client goals, program requirements, and service expectations
  • Participate in manufacturer meetings, quarterly business reviews, and other client engagements
  • Translate program performance into actionable recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strengthen account relationships through clear communication, reliable execution, and proactive problem-solving
  • Identify opportunities to improve service quality and long-term partnership value
Use Data to Improve Results
  • Analyze launch and program data to evaluate performance and identify trends
  • Detect process gaps, recurring challenges, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop actionable insights that support faster decisions and stronger execution
  • Establish meaningful performance measures for launch readiness, program delivery, and client service
  • Provide senior leadership with regular updates on performance, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Use data to promote accountability and guide continuous improvement across teams
Improve Processes and Collaboration
  • Recognize patterns across launches and develop strategies that improve efficiency
  • Standardize workflows, communication practices, and accountability structures where appropriate
  • Facilitate collaboration among Program Management, Operations, and other key functions
  • Help teams move from reactive issue management to proactive launch planning
  • Recommend expedited solutions when operational or process gaps emerge
  • Support scalable operating practices that improve consistency across programs
Lead and Develop the Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the Program Management team
  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance and results
  • Provide regular feedback, mentoring, and professional-development support
  • Build an engaged, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
  • Help employees strengthen their strategic thinking, client-management, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Support workforce planning and team readiness as the organization and program portfolio grow
Ideal Background
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Ability to maintain pharmacist licensure in all assigned states or jurisdictions
  • Eight to 12 years of relevant professional experience
  • Three to five years of people-management, supervisory, or team-lead experience
  • Extensive knowledge of customized patient-support services for specialty medications
  • Strong specialty pharmacy program-management and implementation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain manufacturer relationships
  • Experience using data to identify trends, assess performance, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage several programs, launches, and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to timely execution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, or Columbus, Ohio
  • Ability to travel approximately 20–30%
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting rare or orphan-disease programs
  • Knowledge of hub services and manufacturer patient-support models
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy operations
  • Experience leading new program or specialty product launches
  • Familiarity with limited-distribution networks and complex patient journeys
  • Experience presenting program performance and strategic recommendations during client business reviews
