Director of Operations

Compensation Package : $160,000+ benefits package

We are looking for an exceptional operations leader to transform our Columbus ecommerce fulfilment operation and turn it into a scalable, high-performing engine for national growth.

J&J Global Fulfilment has built a strong eCommerce fulfillment operation in Columbus, Ohio. Now, as part of QLS Group, the largest independent eCommerce fulfillment provider in Europe, we are entering a significantly more ambitious phase.

The US is one of the most significant growth opportunities in the Group. We have the customers, the sites, the demand, and we are an international business with serious ambition.

This is not a business-as-usual role, and we are not looking for someone whose strength is simply maintaining an established operation. The successful candidate will assess what exists, tackle underperformance, raise operational standards, challenge efficiencies and costs, strengthen leadership capability and build the systems, processes and culture required for sustained national growth.

You will inherit an established operation but your mandate will be to develop and transform it.

We’re a trusted tech-enabled fulfilment partner for hundreds of eCommerce brands globally. We’re now the largest independent ecommerce fulfillment provider in Europe, but we’re just getting started.

Following a merger at the end of 2025 with QLS Group we are building on our established presence in the UK, Europe and USA. With the recent appointment of our US Managing Director, our USA operations - one of the most significant growth opportunities within the group - are entering a pivotal phase. This search for our Operations leader, working closely alongside them, will be central to strengthening our operational capability and infrastructure.

This is a hands-on transformation and growth role with genuine authority and accountability.. Reporting to our US Managing Director, you will lead operational performance across two Columbus fulfillment centers, own the operational P&L, and build the standards, systems and leadership capability needed to support fast national growth.

You will need to move confidently between the warehouse floor and the strategic plan. That means being visible in the operation, confronting issues directly and improving today’s execution, while simultaneously building the leadership, capacity, technology and network required for tomorrow

We need someone who can raise standards, strengthen leaders, embed continuous improvement, and ensure we deliver fast, accurate, reliable service for our clients as we grow.

• Operational transformation:
  Diagnose operational constraints and create and deliver a clear transformation roadmap covering leadership, processes, systems, labour, capacity, service and cost.
• Multi-site leadership & performance:
  Oversee end to end operations across 2 fulfillment centers, ensuring adherence to clients SLA’s and on time dispatch
• Operating model and controls:
  Introduce consistent management routines, performance measures, labour-planning disciplines and operational controls across both facilities.
• P&L ownership & cost optimization:
  Management of the operational budget, forecasting, and driving year on year margin improvements
• Scalable infrastructure:
  Ensure processes, technology, automation and organisational design are capable of supporting significant customer and volume growth without compromising service or margin.
• CI & Lean culture:
  Champion Lean / Kaizen methodologies to eliminate waste, optimize throughput, and support the integration of new automation
