Job Description

  • Works under direction and requires considerable knowledge of project management, life cycle methodologies and public policy management or public administration in order to manage projects Plans capital improvement projects for ODRC by interviewing stakeholders, developing project requirements, project budget, and project schedule
  • During design review and approve project requirements, quality standards, and deliverables and plan, specifications, schedules, budgets, scope of work at each stage of the design process Coordinate activities among the various ODRC department sections, institutions, agencies, and design professionals/consultants to develop, review and approve capital improvement programs
  • Responsible for the scopes of work, estimates of cost, design and verify code compliance/plan approval
  • Manage and coordinate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with projects and ensure the schedule is maintained during construction
  • Provide project management including work completed by an assigned institution or outside contractors that includes coordinating construction project tasks with the institution and associated staff
  • Provide site reviews/visits at jobsite, meet regularly with stakeholders, attend project progress meetings, maintain construction project documentation, review, approve and processes change directives, change orders, and pay requests for contractors and professional services firms
  • Conduct final project inspections and acceptance processes construction project closeout documents
  • Responsible for assuring that construction design complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to both staff and inmate accommodations
