Salary & Benefits

Salary range
: $22.83 - $31.29 (based on experience).
Plus $750 sign on bonus.
Plus 15% shift premium for weekend shift.

Hours

Weekend shift: 6:00am - 6:30pm (Friday - Sunday).

Job Summary

Under the direction of Supervisor, lead your team(s) objectives of task completion work for the day which includes Good Receipts, Goods Issue, safe inbound put-away and outbound staging, and picking and loading customer orders as needed to meet customer demands with a minimum of rejection.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan daily tasks as required.
  • As a working operation crew member, organize and direct labor, materials, and process to complete assigned daily operation schedules and requirements.
  • Prepare and complete daily paperwork associated with the operation.
  • Arrange freight for orders when needed.
  • Reduce waste with effective control methods.
  • Train Shipping and Receiving manpower.
  • Conduct routine cycle counting of goods in functional areas to maintain accurate inventory levels in bins.
  • Maintain the Health of SAP EWM through monitoring and updating specific resources and queues.
  • Housekeeping:
    Task the team with reorganizing, consolidating and opening rows during down time. Sweep and clean emptied out rows. Correct uneven pallets and pallets that are stored above ground that are unsafe.
  • Operate Shipping & Receiving equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure quality of non-silica and silica products.
  • Effectively train and coach team members in all applicable SOP’s and ensure that these SOP’s are rigorously followed, including SAP and RF Gun transactional activities.
  • Mentor new employees.
  • Communicate job assignments to team members.
  • Recommend measures to improve inspection and production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production.
  • Assists with projects as needed.
  • Work other shift hours as required by Supervisor or Plant Manager.
  • Become Haz Mat certified if not already certified
Qualifications
  • Must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous or current leadership position preferred.
  • Dependable and able to maintain the attendance required to perform the job.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and fully understand: SOPs, SDSs, labeling, safety and health regulations, and procedures within the job, this job group and the plant.
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment, read scales, recognize product problems, malfunctions and patterns out of specification.
  • Ability to use a computer to learn and navigate SAP to complete job functions.
  • Must have good leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Have a good knowledge of the Shipping & Receiving department. Thorough understanding of, or the ability to, quickly learn Shipping & Receiving operations and machinery.
  • Should be familiar with metric (SI) units as well.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong reasoning/problem solving.
  • Flexible with work schedules to achieve desired results, which may include participating in shift hand‑offs, extended shifts and call‑ins to support departmental needs.
  • Must be willing to participate in external training, which may include off shifts and assigned out of the workplace study and reading.
Working Environment
  • The job is in a dusty environment.
  • Working in a hot and/or cold environment.
  • Required to wear respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to qualify for and wear a respirator.
  • Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time.
  • The job requires a to work lifting, pulling, pushing, turning, stacking and carrying 55 pounds of unstable bags, drums, cartons, and pails consistently and frequently, therefore the candidate must be fit for duty.
