Salary Range: $55,000‑$65,000 (based on experience)
Location: Columbus, OH
Work Hours: 6:00 am‑4:30 pm but must be available for off‑shift support and occasional weekends as needed.

This position is responsible for leading development, compliance, training, problem solving, best practice development, and technical support in sanitation. You will direct the work activities of the facility sanitation teams, ensuring the cleanliness of the facility to meet food‑safety and job‑safety standards while producing product. Adhere to programs and procedures in the Food Safety and Quality Manual. Directly supervise hourly sanitation employees.

Organize the workforce according to schedule and assign sanitation tasks. Coordinate and supervise tasks done by the sanitation team. Verify satisfactory completion of all sanitation tasks. Coach, train, and mentor sanitation team members. Ensure the department has the appropriate tools to complete the sanitation tasks. Ensure sanitation team members work in a safe manner. Advise Plant Manager of any tools or equipment required to ensure effective and efficient sanitation task completion.
Review the sanitation program, policies, and documentation to verify that it encompasses all necessary tasks to maintain the plant and facilities in a safe food manner.
- Must complete and be competent in all required FSQA, safety, and job training.
- Must observe and understand all company rules, follow all safety programs, wear proper PPE during performance of job duties, and work in a safe manner always.
- Properly uses cleaning chemicals as specified on manufacturer’s label.
- Properly reads, comprehends, and completes required forms.
- Conducts and/or verifies post‑cleaning evaluations to ensure equipment is ready for production.
- Conducts chemical concentration checks.
- Orders, inventories and maintains supply levels.
- Validates equipment cleaning procedures.
- Verifies and validates pest program.
- Helps maintain sanitation logs and reports.
- Participates in and supports all third‑party or customer audits.
- Investigates sanitation deviations.
- Coordinates with maintenance department to dismantle equipment if it is outside the ability of sanitation team members.
- Monitors Clean‑in‑Place (CIP) systems to ensure effective operation.
- Assists in and creates effective SSOPs.
- Verifies effective cleaning according to program requirements (ATP, pH, inspections).
- Trains and reviews competencies of sanitation team members.
- Alternate member of the Food Safety team.
- Reports and takes necessary action to prevent food safety, legality, and quality problems from occurring.
- Follows and enforces programs and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Manual to support compliance with the chosen GFSI standard and other third‑party audits.
