Extrusion Production Associate Rotating Shift

Overview

Job Title: Extrusion Technician / Extrusion Associate

Department: Extrusion

Reports To: Extrusion Foreman

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts. Rotating schedule: one week approximately 36 hours and the following week approximately 48 hours, based on production needs.

Location: Columbus, OH

Industry: Plastic Manufacturing

• Support the extrusion process, uphold quality expectations, assist with production schedules, follow safety procedures, and contribute to daily plant operations.
• Work closely with the Lead Technician Trainer to learn and understand the extrusion process.
• Learn to operate Quality Assurance equipment and understand the purpose and function of each device.
• Read and follow production schedules; understand product specifications to help ensure quality products meet customer expectations.
• Complete assigned projects and duties in a timely manner and comply with all safety rules and regulations.

• High school education preferred.
• Basic math skills (working with fractions and decimals, including multiplying, dividing, and converting measurements).
• Good mechanical aptitude, with comfort in hydraulics, mechanics, and equipment operations.
• Strong attendance and reliability; ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary and tolerate strong odors in a manufacturing setting.

This position is located in a plastic manufacturing plant. The work environment may include excessive heat, loud noise, and strong odors related to plastic manufacturing operations. The pace is fast and candidates should be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and able to stay focused and complete duties.
