Job TitleField Service Technician (Remote - Field Service) for the Eastern Region, based in Columbus, Ohio.
Core ScheduleMonday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

- Installation, repair, and testing of field equipment in accordance with customer or manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and controls equipment malfunctions and warranty repairs using diagnostic tools; replace faulty components, repair wiring, and troubleshoot software issues.
- Perform assembly/modifications and ensure quality defect resolution on IE products and equipment; collaborate with IE plants, PMs, Engineers, and Quality teams.
- Travel to support areas throughout the country and possibly overseas as needed.
- Complete receiving inspections with internal Regional Managers, subcontractors, and customers to protect IE from unjustified warranty claims.
- Assess warranty claims and coordinate with Regional Manager to validate claims against codes, specifications, and requirements.
- Execute preventative maintenance programs for electrical/mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime, and explore new revenue opportunities for the field service team.
- Maintain adherence to documented processes for all work performed, including problem description, steps taken, and parts used for professional service reports.
- Respond to client calls, emails and texts as a priority.
- Maintain IE tools, equipment, and vehicles; perform tool inventory monthly and vehicle inspections; submit expense reports on time.
- Follow safety regulations and procedures onsite, wear PPE, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and promote safety standards among employees and networks.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to understand needs and provide timely solutions; explain problem, estimated repair time, and repair cost.
- Adhere to IE training and development programs to ensure best practices are followed.
- Mentor and develop technicians or sub-vendors needing training on IE products and equipment.
- Support continued education, development, and safety training programs; evaluate safety programs and subcontractor safety ratings.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Adhere to IE core values and safety program, including Cardinal Safety Rules.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
- Education/
Experience:
Electrical/Mechanical/Commissioning or Assembly background with 3+ years of field experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. - Business
Experience:
1–2 years of business and contracting experience in a similar role with emphasis on supplier agreements with general or subcontractors; ability to develop professional relationships with subcontractors and customer onsite supervisors. - Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, purchase orders, and project part specifications; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to present information professionally.
- Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures such as voltage drop, cable runs, square footage, volume, Ohms law and battery run time.
