Walor North America is looking for a Second Shift Supervisor to join its Forging team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and training the production associates to ensure production plans are met, while enforcing policies, processes, procedures, safety requirements and quality standards for on-time delivery of parts to our customers.

What you will do
  • Ensure all direct reports follow all current safety regulations
  • Ensure shift data and records are accurate and up to date
  • Verify information input into company software is accurate and complete
  • Improve and maintain workplace environment (5S Standards)
  • Create shift and work schedules and ensure continuous coverage of production (coverage for call-offs, vacations etc.)
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding and monitoring training of direct reports
  • Ensure staff are following standard operating procedures (enforce SOP)
  • Monitor timecards and ensure compliance to company’s attendance points system
  • Disciplinary power (write ups) may be issued at supervisor’s discretion
  • Instill positive company/employee relations, including cooperation and teamwork
  • Participate in development of production plans and follow up to ensure that production schedules are met and communicate changes or execution issues to all appropriate parties (including Logistics, Quality, Shipping/Receiving and ME etc.)
  • Ensure quality of product through random checks and routine audits on all lines
  • Adhere to the process of deviation of part specification, maintain quality data and monitor quality of product as well
  • Provide clear communication to maintenance team on machine related issues and defining the priority for its resolution
  • Responsible for initiating the containment procedure for non-conforming parts
  • Adherence to federal, state and local laws and regulations, internal policies and other applicable rules including ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements
  • Continuous improvement work and activities
  • Fulfilling thoroughly all tasks within the scope of defined qualifications and responsibilities
  • Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Adherence to 5S principles
  • Determine the number of necessary resources: production supplies, raw materials, packaging, etc.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects and activities as required
  • Coordination of manufacturing engineering activities
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
What you will bring
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years experience supervising, leading or directing a team
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience in operating forging preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Concepts preferred
  • Knowledge of machine tools and cutting tools preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of SAP or Plex preferred

  • Physical Demand:
    May be required to lift moderately heavy automotive components up to 25 pounds
  • Schedule:

    Monday thru Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:15 PM, some overtime or weekends may be necessary
