Job Description

Love what you do  Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities across the value stream to ensure efficient workflow, timely delivery, and alignment with customer demand. This role works closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams to align production plans with customer demand, inventory levels, and resource availability, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize scheduling processes and minimize waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer orders and inventory targets, creating weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules that support the approved SIOP plan.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure material availability and machine/people capacity.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules in response to changes in demand, supply disruptions, or production delays.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage work orders and scheduling data.
  • Lead and support value stream mapping and lean initiatives to improve scheduling efficiency.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, schedule adherence, and inventory levels (Raw/WIP/Finished Goods).
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Managers and cross‑functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.
  • Develop capacity models and plans for the SIOP planning process.
  • Communicate schedule changes and priorities clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, provide updates on schedule status, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform any other duties as required that fall within the scope and responsibility level of the role.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3+ years of experience in production scheduling or planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and value stream principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (JD Edwards preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with value stream mapping and continuous improvement projects, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • APICS or similar supply chain certification preferred.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering up to 100 pounds with a dolly.
