Inspector-B TEAM

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment. Understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.

Ensure finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations. Classify typical defects encountered:

• Critical defects – likely to cause package failure and represent an unsafe or hazardous condition.
• Major defects – may cause handling or performance problems but not package failure.
• Minor defects – aesthetically objectionable, but will not cause package failure.

Alert operators to all defects so they can be addressed.

Verify specifications sheet to confirm packaging parameters are met.

Safely perform any required rework. Conduct housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work area and clean entire line area when a line goes down.

Promote a teamwork atmosphere by assisting with housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated, erecting corrugated, and performing rework.

Assist operators in grinding bottles during machine startup, clear jams downstream, and housekeep around the entire machine, including grinders, downstream, and under the takeouts.

Assist the maintenance department with housekeeping on and around machines down for planned maintenance.

Evaluate and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.

Inspect work areas for unsafe acts or conditions.

Use verbal and written communication effectively.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as needed. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.

• Preferred:
  High School diploma or GED equivalent

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
• Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting.

This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
