Pressure Boiler Operator-Building Operations & Maint

Overview

Conducts preventative maintenance and operates high pressure boilers to generate steam for heating and power generation.

Essential Functions:

• Inspects, cleans, lubricates, paints, and repairs high‑pressure boilers and associated mechanical equipment using safe and efficient processes, adhering to all policies and procedures.
• Conducts regular inspections of the boiler and its components to identify and address any issues.
• Works with and schedules inspectors for annual shutdowns.
• Tests and conducts analyses of water quality and other associated equipment to maintain efficient operations of steam systems.
• Records and maintains accurate logs of boiler operations, including pressure, temperature, and fuel consumption.
• Cleans and maintains the boiler and its components to prevent corrosion and buildup of sediment and scale.
• Responds quickly and effectively to any emergencies or malfunctions that may occur during boiler operation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

• State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License, required.

• Three years of experience working with High Pressure Boilers, required.
• Experience with advanced control systems, preferred.

• Occasionally:
  Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Flexing/extending of neck, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Power Tools, Reaching above shoulder, Sitting, Squat/kneel
• Frequently:
  Audible speech, Climb stairs/ladder, Color vision, Computer skills, Depth perception, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Hearing acuity, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, 11-20 lbs, 21-40 lbs, 41-60 lbs, 61-100 lbs, Machinery, Peripheral vision, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near, Standing, Walking
• Continuously:
  Decision Making, Interpreting Data, Problem solving
