Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $75,000-$85,000

This position is responsible for leading development, compliance, training, problem solving, best practice development, and technical support in the area of sanitation. You will direct the work activities of the facility sanitation teams that will include hourly and salaried sanitation team members.
Responsibilities- Direct and train Plant Sanitation Supervisors and Sanitors in daily sanitation activities with the objective of achieving on-time starts that meet all food safety requirements.
- Work closely with Maintenance, FSQA, and equipment vendors to ensure that new or modified equipment meets sanitary design and regulatory requirements prior to purchase and installation. Validate that equipment modifications or new equipment can effectively be cleaned and sanitized to an acceptable microbial level.
- Work closely with sanitation chemical providers to maximize technical expertise and to drive results while being cost effective.
- Develop and manage the department’s operating budget.
- Lead plant sanitation verification and auditing process. Work with appropriate internal partners to address and resolve deficiencies.
- Lead facility projects resulting in more effective execution of sanitation and monitoring processes as well as cost savings initiatives.
- Participate in 3rd party audits and regulatory inspections representing the sanitation function.
- 3-5 Years’ experience preferred
- Previous manufacturing and/or food production experience is preferred
- Knowledge of BRC, SQF, GMP and other food safety standards including HACCP or similar food industry regulations
- Knowledge of chemicals used in food plant cleaning and sanitation in addition to practices, procedures and guidelines
- Experience using Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (iPad, One Note, etc.)
