Mars Petcare – Mars Petcare Operator 2 (1st Shift) – Columbus, OHPay: $24.10/hour
Job OverviewMars Petcare is growing their manufacturing production teams! The Mars Petcare Operator - 2 (1st Shift) is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products. This role will operate and changeover specified machinery, ensure efficiency and safety, operational conformance, product quality, and continuous improvement.
Shift Schedule- Current schedule (first 60-120 days):
Shift 1 (Days) – Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM - Schedule 2: 2-2-3 rotation 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Please note that this position begins with an initial training and onboarding phase. Candidates will be hired into the MPCO-1 position for the first 60 to 120 days of employment. Following this period, the role may transition to a different job title, updated core responsibilities, and/or an adjusted shift schedule.
- Maintain production line operations through preparation, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment during setup, adjustments, and changeovers.
- Resolve production process problems and report production and quality data.
- Follow policies and procedures for equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Safely transport materials and finished goods between the production and storage areas.
- Accomplish organization/team goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.
- Complete any ad hoc tasks assigned by Manager or Team Lead.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Proficient in computer software including MS Office and email.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs).
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
- Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
- Stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours.
- Capable of working in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
- Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment.
- Technical degree or certification(s).
- Mechanically inclined.
- Experience operating or troubleshooting high speed equipment.
- Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement / Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
