Chemical Operator I – Columbus, OH
The Chemical Operator is responsible for ensuring adherence to the production schedule by compounding concentrates and syrups, extracting flavors, and managing inventory accuracy and batch traceability. This role maintains product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and all standard operating procedures.
Shift & ScheduleFull‑time position, 3rd shift Sunday–Saturday 10:00 pm–6:30 am (two days off per week). Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.
Position Responsibilities- Maintain and execute the master sanitation schedule while adhering to facility safety practices.
- Operate sanitation equipment/CIP systems and complete product transfers to liquid packaging lines.
- Use SAP to execute transactions for compounding and read production instruction sheets.
- Weigh materials and pump ingredients into and out of mixing drums and totes.
- Ensure all product meets quality specifications by sanitizing equipment, following recipes, and accurately measuring ingredients. Conduct in‑process quality checks and provide samples for the quality lab.
- Complete documentation for inventory accuracy and batch traceability in SAP and maintain production logs.
- Monitor equipment performance, perform routine maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance technicians to resolve issues.
- Compound syrups and simple blends using general compounding skills.
- Mix natural and artificial flavors, juices, dyes, and preservatives for intermediate batches using shear mixers and homogenizers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Starting pay $22.52 per hour.

- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of batching or compounding experience (preferably in a comparable industry).
- Knowledge of emulsions and experience using homogenizers, extractors, or shear pumps.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to accurately input information.
- Ability to complete computer transactions related to the production process.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts and reasoning.
- Forklift certification required; prior experience preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
