Summary
The Manufacturing Operator operates and monitors precision equipment used in lithium‑ion battery prototyping. This role supports a fast‑paced R&D environment by producing high‑quality experimental cells while maintaining strict safety and process standards. Operators are expected to develop deep expertise in at least one process area while remaining competent across all others.
Responsibilities- Operate slurry mixers, slot die coaters, calendering/slitting machines, cell assembly equipment, and battery testing
- Prepare materials and set up equipment according to defined process parameters and SOPs
- Monitor processes and inspect materials to ensure quality and consistency
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance
- Record production data, process parameters, and equipment performance
- Follow all safety protocols, including chemical handling and PPE requirements
- Collaborate with EHS, engineering, facilities, and R&D teams to support process development and continuous improvement
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
- 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing or processing equipment
- Experience operating and using Siemens PLCs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- Experience with battery manufacturing or similar materials/process equipment preferred
- Familiarity with coating, mixing, calendering, slitting, assembly processes, or battery testing preferred
- Experience in prototyping, pilot‑line, or R&D environments preferred
- Knowledge of dryroom practices and quality systems preferred
