Material Handling is responsible for replenishing or providing stock for picking locations, assembly areas or other stock areas established for specialized distribution uses. Material Handlers will provide re‑stock support to all areas of Picking, as needed. This individual will perform these tasks with a focus on safety, quality and productivity.
Essential Job Functions- Stock or replenish finished goods, repair parts, sets, supplier catalog literature or returned product, in various storage areas within the Distribution Center
- Tab, sleeve, bag or label items prior to stocking
- Obtain needed product from bulk areas or transfer points using necessary portable handling equipment
- Fill orders, including hand‑billed and special orders (i.e., international orders), by pulling the product, preparing and packing for shipment, and delivering it to the staging area for shipment
- Monitor the quantity of items in stock locations to assure that stock is not depleted
- Work closely with the inventory control and the repair sections as necessary in coordinating the inventory of assigned area as required
- Willingness to cross‑train and provide support to inventory and stock related functions
- Responsible for assigned sections of the promotional rows
- Effectively support internal customers by ensuring product is shelf‑ready for Pickers.
- Performs any duties deemed necessary by the Supervisor
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with WMS & AS400 picking operation and process
- Comprehend and demonstrate compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
- Must be able to work with little direct supervision; self‑starter attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and high level of quality orientation.
- Able to adapt and prioritize work to support the flow of work through the Picking area
- Must be flexible in job duties and be able to perform a variety of tasks upon request
- Must be flexible in assigned location for providing replenishment services
- Must possess the ability to work well with others and under restrictive deadlines at times
- Knowledge of tools, brands and product numbers is a plus
- Must be able to always (95% - 100%) lift and maneuver 10 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8‑hour shift.
- Must be able to frequently (65% - 90%) lift and maneuver 25 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8‑hour shift.
- Must be able to often (35% - 60%) lift and maneuver 40 pounds in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8‑hour shift.
- Must be able to occasionally (5% - 30%) lift and maneuver 70 pounds (with assistance) in any range of motion combination from ground/ankle height through above shoulder height for the 8‑hour shift.
- Must be able to frequently (65% - 90%) walk and stand for the 8‑hour shift.
- On‑site critical position. Travel not required.
- Denotes essential physical functions of the job.
- All lifting and/or maneuvering performed must comply with the proper safety techniques established and communicated by The Stanley Works EH&S program.
Hourly rate for this position is $23.66 - $25.48.
