We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented technician to join our Corrosion and Environmental Testing group to apply experience in environmentally assisted cracking, corrosion and materials testing on diverse, client-driven R&D projects.

Responsibilities
  • Execute billable project work according to project scope, deliverables, timeline, and customer expectations.
  • Offer input for internal Research & Development projects.
  • Demonstrate understanding of fracture mechanics principles including fatigue crack growth, fracture toughness, S/N initiation testing, and slow strain rate testing in hydrogen and CO₂ environments.
  • Operate complex, multi-parameter laboratory systems safely in environments involving hazardous gases (H₂, CO₂, H₂S, NOx, SOx).
  • Conduct crack growth measurement using direct current potential drop (DCPD) instrumentation.
  • Execute flow-assisted corrosion testing using rotating cage electrode and rotating cylinder electrode systems.
  • Maintain general familiarity with corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement mechanisms.
Minimum Requirements
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Office environment and laboratory/light production floor with ventilation, climate-control system, moderate lighting, and moderate noise level.
    • Use finger and hand dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, grip, manipulate, and measure.
    • Use vision to see, analyze, and adjust.
    • Frequently move, transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust position, push, stand, stoop, bend and crouch.
    • Lift 10–30 pounds frequently and 40–80 pounds occasionally.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or its equivalent.
    • Associate’s or technology degree in a relevant area of study is considered favorable.
  • Experience:
    • One or more years of experience with environmentally assisted cracking test procedures.
    • Three years of experience operating mechanical test equipment.
