What You’ll Do
  • Prepare public relations materials such as newsletters and fact sheets
  • Assist with creating and scheduling social media content, designing graphics and other materials
  • Develop questions, interview content, and write for written pieces
  • Assist on video shoots and take event photos; assist with website updates and edits
  • Help maintain distribution lists and communication channels
  • Attend meetings and take notes when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the internship

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree program related to Communications, Marketing, or Business
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint)
  • Experience with social media is a plus

Background Check

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
