The Nationwide Financial/Office of the Chief Legal Officer (OCLO) Communications team seeks a communications specialist with editorial and creative expertise, proven ability to craft clear and engaging messaging, and a strong storytelling background.
Responsibilities- Writing and editing digital associate communications (e.g., Digest emails, InSide/SharePoint pages, presentations).
- Managing NF and OCLO SharePoint sites (content creation and design).
- Developing story ideas and stories for InSide editorial, editing copy, and coordinating with the Inside editorial team.
- Building and distributing email campaigns in Contact Monkey.
- Measuring and reporting results for communications tactics and campaigns; producing a quarterly NF communications scorecard.
- Planning, developing, and implementing communication projects for internal and external audiences.
- Assisting in the development of strategic communication plans, writing, editing, designing, and coordinating tactics to support those plans.
- Creating and coordinating communication materials such as discussion guides, presentations, talking points, speeches, and PowerPoint support.
- Presenting reports, presentations, and plans to management.
- Evaluating the impact and effectiveness of communication materials and programs, and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Leading assigned communication projects, performing needs assessments, and recommending new or revised communication programs and strategies.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of survey tools for opinion research.
- Training other Communications associates and performing other related responsibilities as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, advertising, or a related field (degree preferred).
- Five or more years of proven experience in a corporate communications role, including developing content for impactful programs.
- Knowledge of communication techniques and an understanding of advertising, public relations, and marketing communication concepts.
- Strong editorial skills: writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling.
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects, adapt to evolving priorities, and make recommendations to solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable presenting verbal presentations and demonstrations translating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with web, audio‑visual, print, layout and design is valued.
- Hybrid position based in Columbus, OH; candidates must collaborate in office 2–3 days per week. Current Nationwide Remote Associates may also be considered.

National salary range for Specialist, Communications: $79,500.00–$ (expected range $79,500.00–$).
