The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing effective communications strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and impact of the Ohio State Bar Foundation. We are looking for a dynamic, mission-driven communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment and can translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messages. This role will manage all aspects of the Foundation’s marketing, public relations, digital presence, social media, event promotion, and brand consistency.
The successful candidate will be a skilled storyteller with a strong command of content creation, design oversight, media relations, and digital engagement.
- Advise executive leadership on communications strategy, messaging priorities, and reputational considerations.
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications plan that aligns with OSBF’s mission and strategic goals.
- Create and manage a content calendar that includes campaigns, events, fundraising, and community engagement.
- Oversee brand consistency across all materials and platforms.
- Manage OSBF’s website and social media accounts (e.g., Linked In, Instagram and Facebook) including content creation, posting, and analytics.
- Oversee the design and production of print and digital materials, including annual reports, flyers, press releases, collateral events, and email campaigns.
- Create video and photo content to highlight OSBF grantees, Fellows, and impact stories.
- Partner with the Development & Engagement Manager to support fundraising and engagement initiatives through strategic messaging and storytelling.
- Work closely with the development team to support donor communications, including appeals, impact reports, and stewardship materials.
- Collaborate with grantees, Fellows, and community partners to share compelling stories of legal impact across Ohio.
- Provide communications support for OSBF events, including award ceremonies, fellow inductions, and educational programming.
- Build relationships with local and statewide media outlets.
- Draft press releases and coordinate media outreach and coverage.
- Serve as point of contact for public/media inquiries in coordination with the Executive Director.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit, foundation, or mission-driven communications.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., Word Press), email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact and Survey Monkey), and graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience managing social media and understanding platform analytics.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Ohio’s legal or philanthropic landscape is a plus.
