Undergraduate Education | Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center

Leads outreach, communications, programming coordination, and student engagement initiatives for HBCC. This role supports the development, promotion, and implementation of programs and events while fostering relationships with students, campus partners, artists, and community collaborators. The position also contributes to operational coordination, marketing efforts, and student-facing initiatives that enhance visibility, engagement, and participation across HBCC programming.

Primary Responsibilities

Programming, Events & Cultural Engagement

  • Manage the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of HBCC programs, events, and initiatives
  • Lead the event logistics, scheduling, registration systems, and operational coordination
  • Maintain and initiate communication and logistics with vendors, collaborators, speakers, performers, and campus/community partners
  • Lead hospitality, setup, breakdown, and other event-related operational needs
  • Manage maintaining organizational systems, calendars, timelines, and event documentation
  • Support gallery programming, exhibitions, artist engagement, and collection-centered initiatives
  • Create and administer educational, cultural, and creative programming connected to HBCC collections and spaces
  • Coordinate logistics and communication related to exhibitions, installations, and cultural events
  • Support visitor engagement and community participation related to collections programming

Marketing, Communications & Outreach

  • Manage marketing, communications, and promotional efforts for HBCC programs and initiatives
  • Maintain with social media coordination, digital engagement, and content scheduling
  • Coordinate listserv messaging, reminder communications, and outreach campaigns
  • Collaborate with university marketing and communications partners as needed
  • Manage development of promotional materials, visibility initiatives, and audience engagement strategies
  • Assist with maintaining consistent communication practices and public-facing messaging
  • Manage outreach, engagement, and visibility initiatives that strengthen HBCC’s campus and community presence
  • Assist with partnership development, collaborative programming, and community engagement opportunities
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, departments, student organizations, artists, and community partners

Student, Staff & Organizational Support

  • Manage with coordination, onboarding, scheduling, training, and support of student workers and program staff
  • Manage hiring and administrative processes related to graduate assistants, FWS students, interns, and volunteers
  • Maintain student staffing schedules, operational coverage, and communication systems
  • Contribute to creating positive and organized student-facing work environments
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives and other departmental activities as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years in experience

Desired Qualifications

  • 2–4 years’ experience in outreach and engagement,
  • Marketing and student engagement.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $ $47,700 - $62,220 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
